Highland Rim Chapter together with our friends from the north floated the Elk River. These comments are thanks to Millette. "We went from the Tims Ford Dam to the Farris Creek Bridge. It was a great day; warm and sunny! The water was so clear that we saw tons of trout swimming along and there were plenty of fishermen trying to catch them too. The wildlife was out in force too! Right after we put in we came across a snake curled upon a stick right in the middle of the river, later we spotted a mink (some thought it might be a otter but I just don't know), a canadian goose, turtles, a duck of some variety with 4 little babies trailing behind her (she made such a quick getaway I had no time to get a photo!) and a couple of hounds who came down from a nearby farm for a splash to cool off. There were about 20 canoeists and kayakers and a good time was had by all!" The photo documentation is contained in Millette's photos. Thanks to the McClures for their photos as well.
