Sewanee in the Winter - EHE Hike

December 20th Eat-Hike-Eat was interesting for sure. The were a limited number of TTA members but we did get to see a few places and take a few pictures. If you haven't been to Monteagle recently you can find that the Mountain Outfitters has moved to a very nice location about 1/2 mile down the road toward Sewanee on the right. They even have an indoor climbinb wall. Anyone interested in doing some climbing and repelling?

Dave Simpson Pictures - OSF and SSNA

From time to time I receive a link to David Simpson's pictures along with a bit of a discussion about his adventures and about the pictures that he enjoys taking. Many of these have become backgrounds for my computer. Keep up the good work David.

"Great hike yesterday...great for ducks, frogs and hikers with severe cabin feveritus....the morning stayed pretty dry and not to chilly . Our plans were to do Old Stone Fort outer loop ...Go to Jeffy Burger ( Great onion rings!) then head to Machine Falls. Couldn't believe the water level at Old Fort . Where last time I visited Blue Hole falls I was able to take pics from down below the cliffs and the falls ...this time all of that was underwater. Had a great burger and some of the best onion rings I've ever had when we stopped for lunch at Jeffy Burger. We had a ball Wading up the creek in the rain to see Machine Falls with water. George Thomson came up with a novel Idea of bringing a umbrella on the trail...a bit odd... looking down the trail and seeing an umbrella coming at you... but I could have used it while taking slow exposer shots on the tri-pod! After the hike we stopped at a house where Cindy Johnson use to live and had a short hike up to a old pre civil war house and visited with a couple who live next door to her. All and all a great time was had. Thanks for leading the hike Cindy. Enjoy the pics ...merry Christmas... happy holidays...and I'll see you on the trail. - Dave http://picasaweb.google.com/drossic/OldStoneFortMachineFalls122008
