Murfreesboro, Columbia and the great Highland Rim chapters were well represented. The trails were surprisingly dry after the overnight rain. We only encountered three puddles. We enjoyed a very warm and cozy setting at both J&G Pizza and Steakhouse with some going to Cracker Barrel after the hike.
About 10 deer were observed including two bucks and several fawns just out of their spots. The deer at Old Stone Fort are getting rather tame as well as more plentiful. It is amazing how much diversity can be packed into such a small area as is represented by the Old Stone Fort. From the falls on the Big Duck, to the wild fawna, to the microscale as represented by the variety of bracket fungi slowly decomposing a once giant oak.
